PUTERA MIC.......

Many a time I have been posed with a question ‘Why would anyone want to join PUTERA MIC?’. This question was not only posed by MIC members, this question was also posed to me from some of my friends who are not so friendly to MIC.

I think I would rather put it in record some of the reasons which should be shared amongst my other PUTERA MIC brothers so that they to can promote and explain to all why PUTERA MIC should be their option.

Like how Superstar Rajini Kanth has said once in his movie, life is divided into 8. Thus let me give you 8 reasons – WHY YOU SHOULD BE PART OF PUTERA MIC

1. Youth and our youngsters are the future leaders. PUTERA MIC will provide a platform for these young leaders to learn and enhance leadership-skills and people-manage skills.

2. PUTERA MIC will be a platform for varsity and college student to come together and share their views and ideas as well as to discuss any problems faced by the Indian Students in varsity or college. Thus, PUTERA MIC is platform for discussion and solution-finding.

3. PUTERA MIC could help the varsity or the college students to a get a placement for internship. PUTERA MIC will also organize programmes, workshop and career fair to help and guide final year’s students in interview, resume writing and many other activities to expose the student with the real working environment.

4. PUTERA MIC member are mostly graduates thus provides a network of professional whom can provide an effective advice and guidance on career development and employment opportunities. Ultimately, PUTERA MIC could help students or jobless graduate to secure a job.

5. PUTERA MIC provides an exposure and information on socio-political situation of our community. As such PUTERA MIC provides an opportunity for our youngsters to contribute in the process of upliftment our community’s overall status.

6. PUTERA MIC will introduce programmes to guide and facilitate Indian youths to excel in Education, ICT, Business and Entrepreneurial, as well as social-economic related programmes and opportunities.

7. PUTERA MIC could provide an avenue for ‘right political awareness’ especially to the youngsters as many of them are shying away from playing an active role in public life or civil society. On the other hand, political awareness/maturity is crucial to instill patriotism and nationalism.

8. PUTERA MIC will be organizing many programmes from time to time. All these programmes are meant to benefit PUTERA MIC members in many ways. From sports to intellectual related activities programmes will be conducted through out the year. As such it is also an avenue for socializing in a very positive, constructive and productive way.

I can go on and on giving many more reasons why you should join us and be part of this movement. You could also come and help us to help our brothers and sisters who are still in their primary and secondary education; you can be their mentor and guide them to be as successful as you are or probably much more successful than you are.

It is always said you can judge the communities progress based on the number or educated people in the country. Lets make the numbers.
Yours sincerely

I appreciate what PuteraMic is trying to do. However there is a serious neglect on the part of PuteraMIC.

"PUTERA MIC will be a platform for varsity and college student .."

Your emphasis is only on graduates, what about the dropouts and less advantaged?

Tell me how many percentage of Indians become graduates? Besides a graduate should be able to help themselves and be self reliant as they are learned. Assistance is needed when there is a redtape hindering progress of our youths.

PuterMIC is inclined on the easier path..that is graduates are easily managed but how about reaching the poor, dropouts, less privileged and waywards.

Dear Scorpionstar,

You have raised a pertinent point. Putera MIC does not leave out dropouts and the less fortunate.

While we stress that education is the key to a better community, and would like very much to see all our Indian youth become graduates, we understand that some who may not have had the opportunity to complete their studies should not be left out either.

Putera MIC also assists these people by introducing them to vocational courses, 'second-chance programmes', skills training etc. It is our sincere hope that by allowing them to 're-enter' the education route, albeit not the mainstream path, these people will still be able to improve themselves and those around them.

While we may appear to focus on the issues affecting college/university students, this is mainly because there is no other group specifically assisting this segment. However, if you look at our various bureaus, we have specifically set up bureaus to tackle the problems faced by students at all levels, from primary school, to university.

We aim to reach out to one and all, from school dropouts to rocket scientists. :)

Vanakkam,

1st i would like to thank PMIC for coming up with this post. I am one of the many who have been asking them the question "what is PUTERA MIC and Why would anyone want to join PUTERA MIC".

I am a student studying in a foreign land. I am willing to give my full support on their call to Form PUTERA MIC International chapter.

We have to accept the fact that todays youth turn their back to 'mainstream' politics. I am talking about 18-30 years old. We have witnessed many questioning 'everything' about the 'mainstream' politics. If we talking about Indians here then i refer to MIC. Even in virtual world we find many young blogers choose to criticize the government and MIC.

What does this means? They don't have faith in MIC anymore? I don't think so. They just DONT KNOW much about it. And its NOT their fault.

For now , the fact is not only the “above 30” care about political and social situation of the country. WE care and we wish to take part also since its our country and our community.

Then y are they not supportive enough? Its because the reality is they just wont take words as “actions”. They want solid facts, they wish to see 'evident base” , they wants to experience the changes 1st hand. AND THEY WISH TO BE PART OF IT.

Now let me talk about PUTERA MIC. Its a platform created by MIC to the younger youths to participate in their activities. Its a CALL from MIC to the younger youths to voice out their views and ideas. Y choose to be out and criticize when you can come in to the system and be part of the changes that we wish for?

Y PUTERA MIC? What they doing? What they can do? Now thats the question running in many younger youths. And PMIC have the responsibilities to answer those questions or shall i say demands. As i said earlier, younger youths will rarely agree on any ideas or activities that been forced to them. They wish to be part of their own ideas.

My humble suggestion to PMIC is to 1st create a platform to share ideas from others as well. Ask what they really wants. Never hold back their views. Because 'young minds' do great thinking.

PMIC must port a article on their past and present activities. Because they need to proof what they capable of. And provide a platform to seek opinion from 'others' as well. This will shows that PMIC is really CARES.

I understand that the post “ Why would anyone want to join PUTERA MIC” by PMIC's coordinator got criticized a lot. Rather then arguing and fighting back to those criticize, i humbly request PMIC to analyze it. Because i frankly think they asking very relevant questions.

“Sathanai namathu Kaiyile, sarithiram padaipom natile,
Sothanai Ayiram vanthalum, thuninthey name munneruvom”

"When we speak with one voice,
we will achieve our goals.
When we act with one determination,
nothing can stop us from fulfilling our dreams,"

Hello everybody. My name is Kumaran 23 years old, medical student at indonesia.

i would like to share my views with putera mic and the readers.

I think if putera MIC is for 18-30, then y is it lead by a 40+ man?? Yes, he can caretake it but the chief should be with the limit of 18-30. That is the imp thing in creating a platform for the youths. If its really ment for the youths then leave it to them. let them run the show while you and other seniour leaders watch over them. i think with that they will do wonders. with that putera mic will be accepted more by the real puterans.

i really hope my comment will be published. and i hope the chief will reaply for my comment

Let Puteramic serve all and not confined to certain age group. Social service should be extended from kids to oldies.

Youth is only in the state of mind. The difference between a 40year old youth and 20 year old youth is the effectiveness of the decisions made.

I think the objective of PuteraMic is to gather intellectuals and professionals to provide assistance in the form of knowledge and share their experiences with the needy.

I hope to see concrete result.
